Human resource training course in Savannah

A certificate course offered by Georgia Southern University’s Continuing Education Center will review core employment knowledge needed by human resource personnel, office and division managers, and business owners.

‘Essentials of Human Resource Management” will be offered Oct. 5-7 at the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah.

Scheduled as a 15-hour workshop, the course is designed for hands-on practical learning by both human resource newcomers and those with personnel supervision as part of their jobs.

The course will combine case studies, in-class discussions and lecture to help participants develop solutions to the human resource issues they face daily.

The course will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5; from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6; and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 7.

The course is provided in partnership with the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), which developed the materials. The Savannah chapter of the SHRM has provided underwriting to reduce the workshop fee.

The fee is $295 per person, including all course materials, plus lunch on Friday. The fee will be reduced to $245 per person for national, Savannah and Low Country members of the SHRM.
