“Yo Soy Latina” comes to Georgia Southern University
The Multicultural Student Center at Georgia Southern University will host the play ‘Yo Soy Latina” Monday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. in the Russell Union Ballroom.
‘Yo Soy Latina” is an honest and funny look at what it means to be Latina in America. It explores the stories of six diverse women growing up bi-lingual, bi-cultural and proud. Keynote themes include the media’s idealized images of women, self-identity/acceptance and the preconceptions experienced within the racially and culturally different Latino backgrounds.
While titled in Spanish, ‘Yo Soy Latina” was written in English and can be enjoyed by a diverse audience.
Admission is free of charge and open to the community.
