Georgia Southern University presents Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues”

Georgia Southern University’s chapter of the National Organization for Women, along with the Women’s and Gender Studies Program, is gearing up for the 4th annual benefit performance of Eve Ensler’s ‘The Vagina Monologues.” The performance will take place Thursday, Feb. 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.

The performance takes place in support of V-Day, a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. Through V-Day campaigns, local volunteers and college students produce annual benefit performances of “The Vagina Monologues” to raise awareness and funds for anti-violence groups within their own communities. Proceeds from this year’s performance benefit Safe Haven, the local domestic violence shelter.

Advance ticket sales for the Vagina Monologues begin Tuesday, Feb.5. Tickets for the performance, along with T-shirts and chocolates, will be on sale at the Russell Union,
10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tickets are also available from the Box Office at the Performing Arts Center, 912-486-7999, or online at http://ceps.georgiasouthern.edu/pac/. Tickets are $5 for students in advance, $7 at the door; $7 for faculty in advance, $10 at the door.
