Georgia Southern University Adds Einstein Bros. Bagels Restaurant to Centennial Place

Einstein BrosGeorgia Southern University announced that it is adding an Einstein Bros. Bagels (www.einsteinbros.com) restaurant to Centennial Place, the new 1,001-bed apartment-style residence facility on campus scheduled to open Fall semester 2009.

The new retail store is the newest addition to the University’s most innovative residence facility. ‘We are excited to open our newest restaurant on the fast-growing Georgia Southern University campus,” said Rich Guckel, senior director of operations for Einstein Bros., a brand of Einstein Noah Restaurant Group (Nasdaq: BAGL). “We are looking forward to being a part of Georgia Southern University and invite both students and the community to the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner.”

The restaurant is located in Centennial Place at the corner of Georgia Ave. and Forest Drive. The restaurant is expected to open in August ahead of the fall 2009 semester. A grand opening date and hours of operation will be announced this summer. The restaurant will be a part of a unique food court that will include Coldstone Creamery and will be able to seat approximately 70 people. The location will also include a small outdoor patio with seating and umbrellas facing The University Store.

The addition of Einstein Bros. Bagels completes a unique retail corridor on Forest Drive that includes numerous establishments adjacent to the University’s Student Union. Einstein Bros.’ diverse menu offerings include signature sandwiches, fresh baked breads, home-style soups, tempting sweets, artisan roasted coffee and its award-winning bagels. “We are thrilled to offer a new restaurant that will impress students, faculty, staff and the community with its distinct menu options,” said Tom Palfy, director of Auxiliary Services at Georgia Southern University. “This new restaurant is the first-of-its-kind in Statesboro and we are very excited to open the new facility.”

Einstein Bros. Bagels, like all dining options on campus, will accept the Eaglexpress card along with being eligible to participate as part of the University’s meal plan system. ‘This is a great feature for our students who purchase meal plans. They will be able to use their plan at Einstein Bros. just like any other dining establishment on campus,” said Palfy.

Einstein Bros. is a registered trademark of Einstein and Noah Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Inc. Headquartered in Lakewood, Colo. Einstein and Noah Corp. currently operates more than 330 and licenses more than 100 Einstein Bros. Bagels locations throughout the United States.
