Georgia Southern University alumna Shaunté Francois was selected to design the 2016 Governor’s Award for the Arts & Humanities. Francois, a jewelry and small metals artist, graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (3D Studio Arts) in 2015.
Upon the request and recommendation of students through the Student Government Association (SGA), the University’s Fall 2016 Commencement ceremony for graduate and undergraduate students is being moved from Hanner Fieldhouse to Allen E. Paulson Stadium, and will be held on Friday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. Tickets will not be required for entrance to the ceremony at Paulson Stadium.
During his first 100 days as Georgia Southern University’s 13th president, Jaimie Hebert, Ph.D., listened to alumni, faculty, staff and the community by asking them to share their thoughts with him through a unique survey open since July 1.
