Student-directed black box show, ‘No Exit,’ opens on Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus on Oct. 3

No Exit

Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus’ student-run theater group, The Masquers, will present “No Exit,” its first black box show of the season. The show will run Oct. 3 through Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $12 for general admission and discounts are available for military, seniors and children. Georgia Southern students, faculty and staff attend for free.

“No Exit,” a philosophical drama by Jean-Paul Sartre, follows three deceased characters who are punished by being locked up together in one room for eternity. The windows are enclosed by brick, there are no mirrors, the electric lights can never be turned off and there is no exit.

Senior theater major Caroline Pace is excited for her role as director of the production. “I love this show for many reasons,” she said. “The writing is brilliant, and it flows so beautifully with hints of comedy and bolts of pain that can take the audience on an interesting ride. But I am most excited about working with everyone on the show.”

Pace is also grateful to Armstrong faculty for their guidance. “I feel so lucky to be on this campus and to learn and work alongside the best professors I have ever encountered because they listen to each and every one of us and they take our opinions into account. This kind of experience is priceless.”
