The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) is hosting its annual juried student exhibitions this spring, but for the first time they are appearing online. The final juried exhibition of the spring features student work from students enrolled in BFSDoArt undergraduate classes at any level on the Armstrong Campus. The “2020 Student Juried Annual” is usually held on the Armstrong Campus, however the COVID-19 pandemic changed exhibition plans. The exhibition is available to view online through May 10.

The exhibition features works from 25 students juried by Chris Trice, associate professor of photography at the University of North Florida.

“The ‘2020 Student Juried Annual’ is one of the most anticipated exhibitions at the Armstrong Campus’s Fine Arts Gallery,” said gallery director Raymond Gaddy. “We’re disappointed that this year’s exhibition couldn’t be physically installed in the Gallery. However, we’re so proud of our students and their work and in this time when we need silver linings. Professor Trice did a great job selecting a strong body of work for the exhibition. I’m thrilled that the 2020 Student Juried Annual could still be held online and seen by, quite possibly, by a larger group of people.”

The juror award winners are Andrea Tellado, who was awarded first place for her piece, “MC.” Tom Curran received second place for his painting “Morii 9.” Clara Lynn Glander was awarded third place for “Jamel.” Emma Lewis and Autumn Shade received honorable mentions.
