BFA senior exhibition to be showcased online

The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) is hosting its “BFA 2020 Senior Exhibition” this spring, but for the first time it is appearing online. The exhibition features student work from the BFSDoArt senior class. The “BFA 2020 Senior Exhibition” is usually held on the Statesboro Campus, however the COVID-19 pandemic changed exhibition plans. The exhibition is available to view online through May 22.

The exhibition showcases the portfolios and capstone projects of Bachelor of Fine Arts graduating seniors in a variety of media including ceramics, digital and traditional painting, mixed media, photography, printmaking, sculpture and video. The department’s exhibition is a cohesive record of the ideas and images that each student has investigated throughout the last semester of their academic pursuits.

”Regardless of the venue, it is important for artists to share their work with the public,” said Assistant Professor Matthew Mogle. “We make work to share our expressions of humanity. Even though it isn’t ideal, I believe this online exhibition is a great opportunity for students to reach beyond the gallery walls to a much broader audience. Art not only exposes our great capacity to create but makes us feel present, helping us endure times like this.”
