Georgia Southern to host Picnic in the Park on Aug. 11

Georgia Southern University will host “Picnic in the Park” on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at J.I. Clements Stadium where Eagle Nation will have the opportunity to relive one of the great moments in the University’s Athletics history.

Last month, 16 great sporting events were put into a bracket with Eagle Nation voting on each round via Twitter on the winner of each matchup. The winning game chosen by the fans was a replay of the 2013 football game when the Georgia Southern Eagles walked out of the Swamp with a 26-20 win over the Florida Gators!

Fans are invited to bring their picnic items and view the game from either field or grandstand seating. Both options provide social distancing. The watch party is free to the public, but registration is required. COVID-19 regulations will be followed, and attendees will be required to wear masks and keep social distance practices in place. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the broadcast of the game starts at 7:05 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to complete the check-in process.

Picnic in the Park is brought to you by Georgia Southern’s Office of Alumni Relations and Athletics Department. For more information and to register, visit GeorgiaSouthern.edu/PicnicInThePark.
