‘Africans in America’ event to explore what it means to be African American

The Georgia Southern University Center for Africana Studies will host Nemata Blyden, Ph.D., history professor at George Washington University, for a virtual presentation on the relationship between African Americans and Africa from the era of slavery to the present. The presentation will be held March 31 at 5:30 p.m. on Zoom.

Blyden will examine the diversity of African American identities through relationships with region, ethnicity, slavery and immigration to investigate questions fundamental to the study of African American history and culture.
