Garrett Green (’12, ’14), Georgia Southern’s 2013-2014 Student Government Association (SGA) president, was honored by his peers in the University System of Georgia (USG) Student Advisory Council (SAC). They selected him as this year’s recipient of the Regent Willis J. Potts Student Advisory Council Leadership Award. It is awarded annually to a member who exhibits strong leadership in SAC and has attended at least three of its conferences.

“Garrett, as an undergraduate and graduate student, exemplifies what student-leadership is all about,” said USG’S Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Joyce Jones. “His peers recognized his leadership on and off campus and it is greatly deserved.”

Green said winning the award was “humbling to say the least.” The recent graduate from Georgia Southern’s Higher Education Administration Program hopes to one day lead his own university.
