Georgia Southern online Master of Economics degree recognized as one of nation’s best
Georgia Southern University has again been named a top online school by TheBestSchools.org. Recently, the College of Business’ online Master of Economics program was selected as one of the nation’s best by the well-known college research website.
Ranked No. 6 in the nation, the Master of Science in Applied Economics (MSAE) degree is an online two-year program of study that provides graduates with analytical capabilities in economic development, financial economics and regulatory issues. The program incorporates theoretical and practical approaches to the study of economics to develop a strong foundation of knowledge and skills. These capabilities represent a unique combination of proficiencies desired by business and government.
“Graduates with strong analytical capabilities combined with theoretical as well as practical knowledge in economics are in high demand from industry as well as government,” said Yassaman Saadatmand, Ph.D., chair of the College of Business Department of Economics. “Providing an award-winning educational experience for working professionals allows them to upgrade those skills for rapid career advancement. This ranking is another validation of our program.”
TheBestSchools.org methodically ranks each school based on six categories for online degree programs. Those categories are academic excellence, strength of faculty scholarship, reputation, financial aid, range of degree programs and strength of online instruction methodology.
With the online schedule and location flexibility, professionals studying for the MSAE have the opportunity to continue their education while maintaining full-time employment, wherever they may be located. The program is fully accredited by the AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The classes are small, and typically have from 8-15 students per class.
